Tahitian Monoi, a true cosmetic oil
Summer is fast approaching... and yes, I assure you, despite these March showers that we can see through our windows, I invite you to imagine yourself in the lead-up to this summer.
It's June, the weather is beautiful, it's warm... The birds are singing, you're in your garden, adorned in your most beautiful ALABINA bikini from Bikiniboom .
You are about to apply Monoi oil to your skin and, upon closer inspection, you wonder where this oil comes from and how it was made?
A little history lesson...
Having spent two wonderful years in Tahiti, I learned that Monoi is a natural vegetable oil used by the Polynesian people for over 2000 years. It's a sublime blend of coconut oil and Tiare flowers...
It is a natural vegetable oil, like sweet almond oil or olive oil, more precisely an oil macerate . Therefore, it is not an essential oil.
In Tahitian, Monoï means perfumed coconut oil. This natural macerate is used by Polynesians to moisturize the skin, body, and hair, for massage, to treat certain ailments, and to protect the skin from mosquitoes.

Tahitian Monoi, exclusively manufactured!
From the 1940s onwards, Monoï oil became popular beyond the Polynesian islands. In France, it even became a tanning oil in the 1970s. Tahitian Monoï has captivated major international brands, which use it in the formulation of cosmetic products such as shampoos, shower gels, lotions, and creams.
To protect itself from counterfeits, Monoi de Tahiti has carried an " Appellation of Origin " since 1982, which recognizes its exclusive origin in Tahiti, and defines its manufacturing process by decree.

There are no contraindications to using Tahitian Monoi, even for babies and pregnant women, except in the sun! Light monoi is not meant for tanning.
What's the difference in colors?
On the other hand, red bronzing Monoi oil is ideal for getting a tan. It enhances your complexion while offering (very slight) protection from the sun's rays.

Monoi oil gradually and lastingly hydrates the upper layers of the epidermis and softens the skin.
Applied to clean, dry, or damp skin, Monoi leaves your skin supple, satiny, and delicately scented. Used daily, even on the face, it provides natural hydration by instantly penetrating your skin. The hydration lasts an average of 6 hours.
Monoi oil is used before and after sun exposure to nourish, hydrate, and soften your skin . It will restructure itself faster, regenerate effectively, and therefore tan healthily more quickly.
Without any special additives, Monoi oil is a tan extender. The sun filters contained in some Monoi oils are suitable for already tanned skin or for short periods of sun exposure for the skin and hair.
